Danube & Oberammergau
Twelve Day Core Itinerary
August 13 - 24, 2022
Dr. Timothy Dalrymple is President and CEO of Christianity Today, the flagship evangelical media ministry founded in 1956 by Billy Graham. Once a national champion gymnast, he attended Stanford University where he suffered a broken neck his sophomore year. Then followed many years in academia, at Stanford, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Harvard, where he made suffering a theme of his studies in western religious thought. Tim helped to launch Patheos.com, an online marketplace of religious ideas, and in 2013 he founded Polymath, a creative agency that serves businesses and nonprofits serving the world.
Joyce Koo Dalrymple is Pastor of Discipleship and Connections at Wellspring Alliance Church. She has a BA from Stanford University, a JD from Boston College and a MDiv from Metro Atlanta Seminary, and worked as an attorney for 8 years. Joyce has a passion for discipling women, teaching God’s Word and connecting people in the Body of Christ, and she has ministered in women and discipleship ministries at two churches in Georgia. She has a heart for racial reconciliation and for raising up and supporting adoptive and fostering families.
Together, Tim and Joyce have three daughters, ages 6, 9 and 12.
Dr. Mia Chung is among the most accomplished of American pianists. When she was just 16, the famous Russian cellist and conductor Rostropovich selected her for a televised collaboration. A graduate of Harvard, Yale, and Julliard, she went on to study under Peter Serkin.
Mia has performed as a concert soloist with symphonies all over the world, including the Boston Pops, National Symphony, and the Seoul Philharmonic. A 1993 Artistic Ambassador for the United States Information Agency, she toured Southeast Asia and the former Soviet Union.
Mia is the recipient of many awards and has received accolades in The New York Times (“Her playing was dazzling”) and elsewhere. She has taught at Gordon College and the Curtis Institute of Music and been a frequent guest on NPR. During our evening stop in Strauss’s hometown of Vienna, she will provide our guests with a private concert!
Philip Yancey is one of the best-selling Christian authors in America. He has authored over 30 books reaching more than 15 million readers, including Disappointment with God, Where is God When it Hurts?, The Jesus I Never Knew, and What's So Amazing About Grace? His titles have garnered two Christian Book of the Year awards and 13 Gold Medallion awards.
For three decades he contributed as an editor-at-large for Christianity Today and also wrote articles for publications including Reader's Digest, The Saturday Evening Post, and National Wildlife. He has interviewed Bono, Billy Graham, and two U.S. presidents.
Philip holds graduate degrees in Communications and English from Wheaton College and the University of Chicago. He lives in Colorado as a freelance writer and avid hiker.
